<\/span><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>“Patience is not the ability to wait, but the ability to keep a good attitude while waiting.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\nOur patience has recently been tested in various ways, and extensively. it is said that these moments can be instructive. I don’t know about you, but I’m a rather impatient type, and waiting is not my ‘thing’.<\/div>\nYet time and again, I have experienced that waiting can also lead to beautiful things. And that you can always hang in there just a little bit longer than you thought you could. Sound familiar?<\/div>\nDuring the month that I have just spent with my father in Miami, the phenomenon of ‘time’ has taken on an entirely different dimension because of his Alzheimer’s. This has inspired me to take a look at various ways to deal with ‘patience’ in this Inspiration Shot.<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>The beauty of Alzheimer’s<\/h2>\n<\/div>Dementia is a tragic disease, but if you are willing to be open to it, there are also some ‘advantages’. For example, three weeks before I was due to arrive, dad called me every day to ask if I was already on the plane. When one day I actually showed up in his apartment, he was overjoyed. As he was the next morning, and again the day after! Each time he saw me during those first days, it was as if I had just arrived. I cherish all those hugs!
