<\/span><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\u201cIn order to understand the world, one has to turn away from it on occasion.” <\/em><\/div>\nMaybe that\u2019s why I like traveling so much? \u2018To retreat\u2019 means officially: \u00a0\u201cthe act of withdrawing\u201d or \u201ca quiet or secluded place in which one can rest and relax\u201d.
\nI apply this both in my personal and business life, and it\u2019s proved very useful.<\/div>\n\n- Do you ever work ON your business instead of IN it?<\/li>\n
- What do you do to get away from the details and look at the context and bigger picture,\u00a0the helicopter view?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
Business or Pleasure?<\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>A business retreat in a beautiful location is often considered a vacation, whereas that change of environment is exactly what can provide the most unexpected new insights and inspiration. The best ideas are not hatched in a traditional business environment. That\u2019s why all my retreats are business retreats (and therefore tax deductible…)
\nOften inspiration\u00a0is just a matter of having an open mind, and somehow that works better when we are away from our normal environment. All our senses open to the unknown and we see and learn new things.
\nFor example, even during the \u2018touristy\u2019 stops we had on my \u2018Cruise your business\u2019 trip from Barcelona to Buenos Aires, I found many life and business topics to write about. How could I have come up with the following blogs if I had stayed \u2018at home\u2019? On the other hand, other people on the same excursion had a completely different, \u2018touristy\u2019, experience.
